Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: October 13

“God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them …” ~ 2 Corinthians 5:19

If you know Christ, your heart sings with joy at this “green stone” verse. But only His loved ones know His love as it is. How often should we repeat and repeat that He is love.

“God was in Christ” on that Cross, “reconciling the world unto Himself.” We’ve already seen that to be reconciled means to be harmonized. To be made to “sing together.” God hung on the Cross so that His whole world could be harmonized with Himself. So that we could all sing together with Christ forever.

Mahalia Jackson sings “… and with Jesus, I’m going to sing redemption’s story”! How glorious, when Mahalia and Jesus and Paul and You and I [Eugenia Price, the author] and all who hear the song of reconciliation, can dance around the throne and sing together in a heavenly-harmonized eternal life!

“God was in Christ, reconciling … not imputing their trespasses onto them.” God was in Christ, making harmony, not pointing a finger! He could not have pointed a finger as He hung there. He had given both His hands to be nailed to the cross.

He did not point a finger to condemn. He opened His arms to save. Not charging us with our sins. But embracing them for us.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.”
