Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: May 6

"And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not" ~ Isaiah 58:11

The Lord wants to guide us continually. He wants us to remember He is continually saying "Here I am." And the promises He makes if we meet the conditions for hearing His voice and being willing to take His guidance are the loveliest of promises.

If you and I [Eugenia Price, the author] will "draw out" our souls to someone who is afflicted or hungry, if we will drop our cloaks of self-pity and self-righteousness, He will not only bring light into our obscurity and drive away our darkness, He will satisfy our souls in drought and we will "be like a watered garden."

I am glad He put it that way. "... and thou shalt be like a watered garden."

Then I know God Himself will be doing the watering. My needs will be met by His own dear hands. My heart will be mended by the pressure of His Heart against it. "He shall feed His flock like a shepherd .." But more than this direct, personal attention, He also becomes our "spring of water, whose waters fail not." He cannot fail. He is God. We will be fulfilled --- in full..

"... the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into the everlasting life ... Ye are complete in him."
