Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: June 27

"And the Lord Direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ" ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:5
Once more Paul lifts my [Eugenia Price, the author's] faith in another "blue stone" verse which directs my heart "into the love of God." If we will only remain aware of His love, we will find it much easier to "lift up the hands which hang down." We can lift hands of praise to a God whose heart is love. Whose intentions toward us are love.

We find it easier to enter "into the patient waiting for Christ," if we know God's heart is all love. I believe we can use this "blue stone" verse in two ways to strengthen our weak hands of faith and our "feeble knees." First of all, of course, Paul urges the Thessalonian chrisians to "direct their hearts into the love of God" so that they could wait more patiently for Christ's return. Surely, this is a wise word to us now as well. He is coming back. And especially those of us who have glimpsed His real intention toward His creations await that time eagerly. But we if know of this LOVE, we will be more willing to wait patiently for Christ to work out His perfect will in our lives here on this earth. We will be willing to wait for Christ to act, so that "the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified."

"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him ... [for] the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil."
