Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: February 27

"I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee" ~ Isaiah 44:22
This "clear stone" must be shared because it "cuts right through" the thick coating of "false guilt" inside which so many sincere Christians gasp for spiritual air. I [Eugenia Price, the author] have spoken to such persons who have neither the insight nor the courage to take what has already been done for them. The blood of Calvary does not avail for you, according to what you think about the blackness of your sin! The blood of Calvary covers everything, not because the sin isn't "too bad", but because of whose blood it is. One woman was practically an invalid; she had slept until noon for years and had taken expensive mineral baths all over the country. Then my friend Ellen helped her "bury" the guilt of a teen-aged sin which still tormented her. Christ had forgiven her but she would not forgive herself. In one sense she was making Calvary "much ado about nothing". Suddenly she saw it, accepted what He had already done for her, forgave herself, and now she is a radiant, healthy, active Christian, to whom others come for help. If some past sin still haunts you, don't do another thing until you have accepted His forgiveness. If you've asked, He has already forgiven you. Perhaps you asked years ago, as did our friend. And all this time you have been hurting His cause because you refuse to forgive yourself and to take what He gave His life to make possible. No more discussion is really required. We must simply take God's word for it, and He says:
"I have BLOTTED OUT, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and as a cloud, thy sins: RETURN UNTO ME; for I have (long ago) redeemed thee."
