Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: February 9

"... and he that hath no money, come ye, buy, and eat ..." ~ Isaiah 55:1
There is no other requirement but thirst. There is no other requirement but poverty. And there is no other requirement but hunger."Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters ..." "Ho, every one ... that hath no money; come ye, buy ..." Here are extended arms too low for anyone to crawl under and to high to soar above! They are open arms, flung wide at the dictate of a heart that is forever incomplete until we come home to be one with Him as He and the Father are one. "... he that hath no money; come ... buy wine and milk without money and without price." This would seem to be another one of those contradictions. And surely it is. This invitation is utterly contradictory to any human reasoning. Even the highest form of human love has its price. On God's love the only price is that we bring our needs. God only wants us to be thirsty so He can give us living water to drink. God only wants us to be poor so He can show us that Christ has already bought us with His own blood because He loves us so much. God only wants us to be hungry so He can feed us on the bread of life.
" And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst."
