Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: January 20

"To whom then will ye liken God? Or what likeness will ye compare unto him? To whom then will ye liken me... saith the Holy One" ~ Isaiah 40:18, 25a
One day we will all know about going home. One day we will all know about God. What He's really like. One day we will understand what it is He is doing. For now, it is enough to know that "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." "To whom then will ye liken God? "I and the Father are one." This is the word of Jesus Christ "on the bosom of the Father,""Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high." We liken the Holy One of Israel to Christ. We dare to do this on God's own authority. For God was in Christ on the Cross of Calvary, as Jesus was, "by himself purging our sins." God was in Christ reconciling us to Himself and giving us holy authority to declare and to experience the fact that when we see Christ, we see the Father also. It is well to remind ourselves of this over and over again. "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; ... he that hath seen me hath seen the Father ... I and the Father are one."
