Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: September 8

“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” ~ Isaiah 45:22

REASON for rejoicing and rest here. God has already called and on Calvary He acted and now there remains nothing for us to do but look! Someone has said, “we are saved by the right look.” We are. The God who is the Author of simplicity and clarity and not confusion, tells us that we are to look at Him and He will save us.

And He declares clearly and simply also that this includes anyone who will look. “Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” “Knock and it shall be opened unto you.” “Seek and ye shall find.” “If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.” Whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely.”

The love of Christ is universal. It spreads its arms as wide as the Cross. Wide enough to embrace and hold anyone who is thirsty and hungry and helpless enough to come and be loved by the One who Himself is love.

We are to come and we are to look and we will be saved. This is because of who God is. God gives a reason for the utter simplicity of looking: “Look unto me and be ye saved … for I am God, and there is none else.”

“Ho, everyone that thirsteth … come unto me.”
