Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: July 25

“Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters” ~ Isaiah 43:16

In the moments when we need to be understood even more than we need to understand, this “purple stone” verse is a suddenly opening gate. “Thus saith the Lord.”

And we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to know that whatever He says is a fact. The Holy Spirit is always willing to make this known to us. But it is only through suffering that He is sometimes able to get our attention.

Once we know that the Lord’s word for it is enough, we somehow don’t need to know the nature of the path we are to follow from this point on. It is enough to know ”Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters.” If the Lord says He will do it, He will do it.

How He does it no longer matters. We know about the “sea and the mighty waters.” They have beaten against us for so long. About the only way through them, we do not know. But He knows. And that is enough. He will make the “way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters.”

“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”
