Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: July 7

“Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise” ~ Isaiah 60:18
Whatever your life has been like in the past, however filled with violence and destruction, all that is at an end! Here is a “purple stone” verse particularly for those of us who came to Christ as adults. Or for those who knew Him once and turned away and then came back. There is always violence and destruction without Him.

Sin destroys and tears down. Christ creates, and recreates. Yours may have been an inner-violence which showed itself only in the quiet desperation on your face. Or it may have been a quiet, bitter destruction at work on your own heart because you refused to forgive. It may have been raw self-fired violence.

No matter what it was and no matter what it is, “violence shall no more be heard in thy land” if Christ is possessor of that land. There will be no more “wasting nor destruction within thy borders” because where Jesus Christ is, nothing is wasted and nothing is destroyed, except the power of sin! It has been said that “there is no cement in sin.”

But “by Him (Jesus Christ) all things consist.” By Him all things, hold together. The time of destruction and waste is over. Your life has become of one piece, if it is all in the hands of the one Son of God.

“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: … thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach…”
