Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: July 2

"Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father?" ~ Matthew 10:29
We have looked at this stone in another collection, but let's look at it again here among our "purple stones." Not only is God actually in our sufferings, Jesus tells us that not even a little sparrow can fall to the ground without the Father.  And two sparrows are not even worth a farthing now.

How much then, do we underestimate God's heart-deep caring about our sufferings! I [Eugenia Price, the author] cannot conceive how much He cares. But I can open myself, as you can open yourself now, to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to reveal more of God's intention toward us.  More and more I see He is always in motion toward us.  He never stops.

Minute by minute, Christ is in motion in our behalf. And sometimes only in tragedy and times of great weeping, do we pay enough attention to Him to realize this. It is my prayer that as we share these "purple stones" together, we will come to recognize His everlasting, minute-by-minute activity toward us. If this is true, then we can rejoice in our need.

If your heart is breaking now, Jesus Christ not only knows exactly why, but He cares with all the love there is in existence.

"God is love ... God is love."
