Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: June 20

"And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven" ~ Colossians 1:20
Even if there is something or someone in heaven in need of reconciliation, it has been provided for by Jesus Christ. "... by him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven." I don't pretend to know what that means in its entirety. But my faith draws rich nourishment from it. I see that this Jesus Christ, whom I [Eugenia Price, the author] worship, "is beyond conceive of books or mind."

He is understandable only to the heart. Only the heart can truly conceive reconciliation. My heart can tell you what He did for me on the Cross. So can yours, if you have allowed Him to become real to you.  Jesus Christ not only is peace, He has "made peace through the blood of his cross" and we need to ask the Holy Spirit to lift this out of the doctrinal labyrinth and give our hearts access to it! e may be frolicking absently about the foot of the Cross right now, never once looking up toward the One whose blood made peace for us with God. He has reconciled you to Himself by the blood of His Cross. To be reconciled means to be harmonized. We must check ourselves. Perhaps the jarring unevenness of our lives springs from the fact that the music to which we stubbornly frolic around the foot of the Cross is our own tune! Therefore out of tune with the melody of heaven. But we can get into God's rhythm again. We have already been harmonized "by the blood of His Cross."

"And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath been reconciled."
