"For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth." ~ Deuteronomy14:2

Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: March 5

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me" ~ Isaiah 6:8
Many people wonder and fret and act "put upon" by God Himself, because they are "ready" for service and God does not open any doors. We say we are "dying to do this or that." Let's face it. God has already died to be able to use us. We never need to pray, "O Lord, please use me." This is totally unnecessary in the light of what Christ has already completed on Calvary. Please do not misunderstand. Perhaps God does not seem to be using you now, but later on you will see that He has all along been using you in a way you didn't even suspect. Or he is making you ready to be used. Please do not jump to the conclusion that I am saying you are not good enough to be used. No-one is. But it doesn't take much of a man to be a useful Christian, it just takes all of him. And sometimes even in our desire to be used must be purged away under the "live coal" of inactivity. We do not know when we are ready. Only God knows that. And since He has already died to be able to use us, don't you think He will call us out at just the right time? He will not only call us out, He will send us well supplied with all we need. After all, hasn't He promised to fill us with Himself? Could we need anything else if we are actually filled with the very life of God Himself? "Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate." When we are really empty of ourselves and our beloved plans and schemes "for His glory," then He will send us out. Filled with Himself.
"If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in ... go ye."
