Pleasant Stone Devotional Meditation: February 12

"The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew" ~ Proverbs 3:19-20
As we have already said, God created our minds a certain way. "The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens." By the same wisdom and by the same understanding does He long to "establish" us. To give us the "feel" of the Rock beneath our feet. To lift us up onto ever higher ground. By this same knowledge does the Holy Spirit "break up our depths" when we give Him freedom to work there. God knows about your old thought patterns, and He knows about mine. In the realm of our subconscious minds, as well as in our conscious minds, God is at work, through the Holy Spirit "breaking up our depths" in order to free us from the old tyrannies. He has full knowledge of what He's doing there too. And by the same knowledge that causes the clouds to drop dew, He causes new refreshing to fall upon our spirits because He also knows how much we need refreshing even when our "depths are being broken up" by the gentle, capable hand that created us. God knows of the pain of the "maimed" new life. He understands the grief that lingers when that certain phase --- or person is gone forever. God alone truly understands the pain of emptiness because He Himself created living creatures to fill the first void "in the beginning". "The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth ..." We can rely upon him for complete understanding because "by understanding hath he established" it all. We are not too much for Him!
"In the beginning, God..."
